Wow. What a week to show you guys that literally anyone could do this article. I stuck my neck out and actually made game predictions (without any real analysis btw) and I made two predictions per game. Well, if you are keeping score at home, I didn’t do so hot. Though if you step back and consider the likelihood of it all, then I did pretty well.

I don’t care that ARI is what we all thought they were (lost without Palmer), but the Steelers really let me down. I guess when it comes to the playoffs, always bet on John Harbaugh to win that first game (undefeated). Amazing. It’s not even like Baltimore was that impressive, the Steelers really just run through Bell and he was out. Sucks for them.

What I got right:

DET vs DAL – There are 9 combined sacks in this game (there were exactly 9 for anyone keeping count)

CIN @ IND – Colts win by 3 scores

That’s it, I was 2/8 for the week’s predictions, and it could be worse if my predictions on winners counted.

Whereas I made refined, but incorrect, mistakes, you guys were just all over the place. Jive had my favorite prediction of “All the home teams win”. It’s simple, and yet complicated, but sadly it didn’t happen. Runner up was SaintsChicka wishing for a Steeler comeback at halftime. He/She predicted it, but sadly it didn’t happen. Noshoes was the closest to a real BOLD prediction with his “Bell held to less than 100 yards” prediction. Bell didn’t play, but the prediction came before the announcement so I’ll allow it (that and you guys didn’t do too well so I need filler).

What you got right:

Noshoes – Bell is held under 100 total yards

SaintsChicka – A 7-8-1 Team Wins A Playoff Game (sad, and we all saw it coming …but I needed winners)

Moving on to next week:

BAL @ NE – This game has blowout written all over it, but after last week I will not discount the Ravens in the playoffs. They beat the Patriots two years ago and its just as likely they do it again. I’m picking the Patriots and Tom Brady in this one, but to hedge my bet I’ll say the Ravens could surprise everyone. My predictions are:

Brady throws 5 TDs

Flacco has more total TDs than Brady

CAR @ SEA – This should get me some hate. Griz already tried to tell me how much better SEA is than CAR, and I agree. I however look back at the last 3 games these teams have played and I think this will be a close game. In SEA’s favor is that Newton and CAR have not played in SEA recently. I’m calling a close SEA win. My predictions are:

Lynch has less than 75 rushing yards

Benjamin has 100+ and 2 scores

DAL @ GB – As a 49er fan, these are two teams that I have to hate. As a respected author on SKA, I have to set that hate aside. I think this could be the best game of the weekend. I hate all things Cowboys just a little more than I hate GB, but I have to pick them in this game. I expect a high scoring game, but the Cowboys squeak out a winner in the end. My predictions are:

There will be 400 total rushing yards in this game

Rodgers throws two INTs

IND @ DEN – We get to see Luck vs Peyton….again. This game could go either way. Luck can keep up with Peyton and the Denver offense, but I think eventually that Denver’s run game will be the difference. Denver wins. My predictions are:

CJ Anderson scores 3 times

Luck has 4 turnovers

By now you should know the drill with the predictions, use the form blah, blah, blah. Feel free to start up your Super Bowl predictions, or if you just want to predict every game’s winner (though I’ll probably only post that one if someone gets all four games correct for this week). Don’t drink and drive but if you have to, drive fast to avoid exposure time.
