At long last, the Super Bowl Prediction thread. I wish I could say I was sorry it took so long, but I’m really not. Convention says I should write at least a short paragraph here as a lead in, but it’s been too long and no one really cares anyway. So we’ll just rehash the predictions for the game. Look at that, a short paragraph developed all on its own.
My predictions for the game:
SEA has more turnovers than NE – I was wrong on this one, but NE had the only turnover that mattered.
Both Revis and Sherman get an interception – Neither guy did shit. Their combined stat line was 4 tackles. This is actually good for top CBs I guess.
NE fumbles at least 3 times – Despite Deflategate, NE continued to be a non-fumbling team. There were no forced fumbles in the game.
NE has more yards rushing than SEA – Unlike Charlie, I picked the lower ranked rushing team to have more rushing yards. I was wrong.
What you got right:
Jive – Wilson throws an INT with 5min or less left in the 4th Qtr.
- Jive gets top billing because of how the game ended. Still laughing.
Plumlogan –No 1st Qtr TD for either team
- Nailed it.
Charlie – Both Kickers will not miss a kick (FG) in the game.
- NE didn’t even attempt a FG, but this still makes it in.
Charlie – Lynch / Wilson / Turbin have more rushing yards than Patriots team
- Was this really BOLD? You basically picked the best rushing team to do better than the 17th ranked rushing team. Are you really proud of this?
Half truths:
Cd4packers – Patriots will win the SB and beat the Seahawks by 17pts.
- Well at least they won the Super Bowl.
Too Short – This place will be a ghost town after the Hawks win.
- This gets a spot here because I do think traffic was a little low, but it wasn’t because SEA won.
Cd4packers – Tom Brady will have more than 4 TDs.
- He had 4 TDs. This is why you should always say “4 or more.”
What you got wrong:
Sir Squatch – Erin Andrews pegs Richard Sherman on the field after the game.
- I’m not saying she didn’t peg him, but if it happened it wasn’t on the field.
Cd4packers – RW will be sacked more than 5 times.
- The number was actually 3.
Cd4packers – Tom Brady will not be sacked and will throw zero INTS.
- Well neither of these things happened.
Cd4packers – RW will throw 3 or more INTs.
- Sadly no, but he threw the only INT that mattered.
SFC – Tom Brady – playing with regulation footballs for the first time in years – will have no less than two fumbles
- I too fell for this line of thinking, but I was more thinking it would be Blunt.
SFC – Turbin will have more rushing yards than Blount
- Blunt sucked, but not enough for this.
Lowsaw – LYNCH, LYNCH, and more LYNCH, right up the loose ass of the Patriots defense. Hawks 27 Pats 13
- If only Pete Carroll had listened to this sage advice.
Oliver James – Pats win by at least two TDs
- Well they won at least.
BMT – Revis catches a TD on Sherman
- Lol
Navarrossss – Vareen has over 200 yards from scrimmage and 2 TDs, but SEA wins 24 -17
- Vareen had 77 total yards and no TDs.
Ancientage – Brady has 400+ yards against the LOB
- He played well, but not this well. 328 yards and 4 TDs.
Munkey – RW passes for 250 and rushes for 100
- LMAO, no.
Keal – Pats 34, SEA 17
- I guess the score was supposed to be bold?
Navarrossss – BB retires after the game, win or lose
- Neither Bill Belichick nor Brandon Browner has retired to my knowledge.
Plumlogan – Wilson throws more TDs than Brady
- Oh man, was this wrong or what?
5Bowls – Pats 27, Hawks 26
- This was closer than Keal at least.
SacSig – PC gets a call overturned
- I’ll be honest, I have no idea if this happened.
Charlie – Patriots RB Blount has more than 2 Turnovers
- We all expected it, but it didn’t happen.
Charlie – QB Brady only has 1 TD pass
- You meant 1 x 4 right?
Charlie – TE Luke Willson will win the SB MVP (100-1 shot)
- This was never going to happen. I did think he might catch a pass, but he didn’t.
Charlie – RB Turbin will have more yards rushing than Lynch in the game.
- Nope, Lynch still reigns supreme in SEA.
Charlie – QB Wilson will pass for over 70.0% completion percentage.
- It was actually 57 %, but what’s 13+ percentage points between friends.
Noshoes – Katy Perry shows some nipple during the halftime show
- Of all the things that should have happened but didn’t, this is at the top of my list.
BKOB – I, BKOB, do hereby boldly predict that a Seattle Defender will score a TD in the Superbowl
- This was semi-ballsy because it really doesn’t happen much. Sadly, it didn’t happen this time either.
SaintsChicka – BRADY Breaks SB Pass Yardage Record
- Kurt Warner still holds the top three spots for pass yards in a Super Bowl, so nope.
