Cloister’s Mock 2.0

Trades aplenty have been included this time around, which is much more realistic, but also impossible to predict. I also decided to only provide narratives for the teams that are fan-represented on SKA as to limit scrolling. To the picks!

  • Arizona Cardinals – Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama

The Cardinals pass up a pretty sure thing in Bosa for the massive potential of Quinnen Williams. Rushing him from the 3T next to Chandler Jones would be quite formidable.

  • San Francisco 49ers – Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State

SF gladly takes what most consider the draft’s premier edge rusher. It will be interesting to see if they take yet another defensive linemen with their top 5 pick next year.

  • Miami Dolphins (from NYJ) – Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
  • Oakland Raiders – Josh Allen, Edge, Kentucky
  • Buffalo Bills (from TB) – DK Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
  • New York Giants – Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

It’s about time, amirite? Giants can’t pass on an Eli replacement again if one falls into their lap, can they? Probably, but not in this mock.

  • Jacksonville Jaguars – Brian Burns, Edge, Florida State
  • Atlanta Falcons (from DET) – Ed Oliver, DL, Houston
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from BUF) – Devin White, LB, LSU

The Buccaneers could go in a number of directions here and I considered adding help to their offensive line, but White is a 3-down LB that would pay immediate dividends on a horrid defense.

  • Denver Broncos – Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
  • Cincinnati Bengals – Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
  • Green Bay Packers – Jachai Polite, Edge, Florida

Clay Matthews is old and really annoying in commercials. An obvious need filled by an explosive player.

  • New York Jets (from MIA) – Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
  • Detroit Lions (from ATL) – Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
  • Houston Texans (from WAS) – Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma
  • Carolina Panthers – Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Clemson
  • Cleveland Browns – Christian Wilkins, DL, Clemson

I’ll write a narrative just for Shitrant and his fake Browns fandom. I didn’t even mock a DT here on purpose, but this makes me happy. Wilkins be good.

  • Minnesota Vikings – Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State
  • Tennessee Titans – Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
  • Pittsburgh Steelers – Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
  • Indianapolis Colts (from SEA) – AJ Brown, WR, Ole Miss
  • Oakland Raiders (from BAL) – Kelvin Harmon, WR, NC State
  • Washington Redskins (from HOU) – Chauncy Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida

My favorite safety in the class, Gardner-Johnson is a versatile DB that has the range to play deep and the corner experience to cover closer to the LOS. Washington acquires one of Houston’s back-to-back second rounders by trading down.

  • Baltimore Ravens (from OAK) – Nassir Adderley, S, Delaware
  • New England Patriots (from PHI) – TJ Hockenson, TE, Iowa

The Patriots trade up to snag a Gronk replacement. Hockenson is a complete TE that would fit in well in New England.

  • Seattle Seahawks (from IND) – Deandre Baker, CB, Georgia

If any team is going to trade down in the first round to acquire extra picks, it’s the Seahawks who hold only 4 selections in the entire draft. Baker is a fantastic press corner that could elevate his stock by running well at the combine.

  • Oakland Raiders – Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
  • Los Angeles Chargers – Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama
  • Green Bay Packers – Rashan Gary, DL, Michigan

The slide for Gary is finally over. He has tremendous physical gifts, but his lack of production at Michigan sees him drop in the draft. The Packers can’t pass him up at 29 and will have to add help for the overrated Aaron Rodgers in FA or later rounds.

  • Kansas City Chiefs – Garrett Bradbury, IOL, NC State
  • Washington Redskins (from LAR) – Daniel Jones, QB, Duke

The Redskins jump back into the first for the most pro-ready QB that could potentially go in round 1. Fiversons rejoices until he realizes Bruce Allen is still in charge.

  • Philadelphia Eagles (from NE) – Jeffery Simmons, DL, Mississippi State

Philadelphia adds one of the Patriots’ compensatory 3rd rounders while picking up a top 10 talent at a position of need. They may have to redshirt Simmons, but he’d be worth the wait. And pairing him with fellow Mississippi State DT Cox would be bonerific on all levels.
