A lot of people are praising Mike McDaniel in Miami for giving confidence to Tua. It worked until he got smoked multiple times, now pair that with SF QBs getting killed going on 3 years now.
It’s the offense that kills the QBs.
This offense is based on everything looking the same so even pass plays have run block elements to them and the run action over-rides the QB protection. So, of course you’re gonna se defensive ends selling out of a pass play and killing QBs.
Your tackle is worried about making his pass blocking look like run blocking.
Overall, pass plays are starting with run action every time so after awhile a smart Defensive End will just say: Fuck this I’m not worried about the tackle doing run block action. I’m just gonna beat him to his spot.
It’s a great offense and works but what elements are you sacrificing to create that look?
