I liked how Sanchez looked last night. And there’s room for improvement for he missed some throws.
I hated how Nate Allen – despite the INT – still played like Nate Allen.
I was disappointed in the Eagles crowd for booing Avant on his first catch. If not a cheer, then silence. No Boos. Avant was a class guy as an Eagle. He deserves better

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports it’s “looking good” for Rashad Jennings (knee) to return against the 49ers.Graziano cautions that it’s “still early,” but it’s obviously encouraging that Jennings got in some practice reps in Week 10. The Giants’ whole offense, not to mention the running game, has gone in the tank during Jennings’ absence, so his return would be no small matter. The 49ers are a tough matchup, but Jennings would be an immediate RB2 as an every-down back.

Disposable HeRowe A source tells FOX Sports that Cam Newton is now nursing a right foot injury.Newton had his left ankle surgically repaired over the summer and is still experiencing soreness. This issue on the right side is likely due to compensation. Although it’s nothing that will keep Newton sidelined (as evidenced by him playing well into garbage time Monday night), he’s clearly not as mobile as he’s been in the past. Through nine games he’s on pace to run for 467.5 yards and 3.5 touchdowns, both of which would be career-lows. He’s also on track to take 53.3 sacks — his previous career-high is 43. Newton should get things going in a home game against the Falcons in Week 11, but his upside is capped a bit if he’s not explosive with his legs.

It was his first big game since posting 8-59-2 in Week 3 against the Redskins. But this time, there may be more to follow. Matthews was easily Mark Sanchez’s favorite target during the summer when both were working with the second-team offense. The chemistry picked right back up against Carolina. Matthews caught four passes for 73 yards and his first score on one possession then twisted into the end zone from 18 yards out for his second score in the fourth quarter. He’s a legit mismatch out of the slot at 6’3/212. He’s a perfect target for Sanchez, who loves to throw the ball in the intermediate-middle part of the field. Matthews could flirt with WR2 output down the stretch.

Sanchez was simply dropped into Chip Kelly’s offense, and the up-tempo system fits his skills perfectly. He moved around the pocket, moved defenders with pump-fakes, and showed plus arm strength after undergoing shoulder surgery last year. It’s confirmation that this offense can make Sanchez a shoo-in QB1. He found rookie Jordan Matthews on both of his touchdown passes, hooking up with Matthews seven times for 138 yards in total. The Packers are up next for Sanchez and the 7-2 Eagles.

He threw a horrible pick-six to Bradley Fletcher, and was scattershot for much of the night. He saved his fantasy owners by tossing two garbage-time scores to Kelvin Benjamin. The Falcons are up next.

Their stats suggested a regression anyway, even if Palmer were still healthy. Their +53 point differential is the third-worst all time for teams with 8+ wins in their first nine games, suggesting they are getting really, really lucky to come out on the winning side of so many close games. Plus they still have KC, Detroit and Seattle twice on their schedule.

Sanchez moved well when getting pressured by Keuchly on one blitz I saw. He’s more athletic than Foles fo sho.

They’re all good. The bartender at the bar near me that carries is owned by Ty Burrell and he gives the bottles to the bar that he receives from rich hollywood types. Apparently, he has stocked up quite a few. $35 a drink for the 10yo.

Bulleit’s bourbon is made by Four Roses and their rye is made by LDI-MGP. I think Bulleit broke ground on an actual distillery in Kentucky this year. So maybe in 10 years or so they will be selling their own stuff.

There are cheaper Four Roses that are just ok. But the small batch and/or single barrel Four Roses bourbons are pretty damn good ($30-40 depending on which it is). But that is why Bulleit is cheap. For now it is just a recipe(s) that they slap a label on and sell under some old guy’s name. Once they start making their own stuff and have to pay off that distillery, Bulleit will be more $. I think Bulleit is owned by Diageo anyway, so they can afford to just build a brand a following for now.

Again, a misleading article on how it works. Just because they are distilled at a single distillery does not mean they are just taking the same whisky, throwing it in various bottles and calling it different. That 1: Isn’t how it works, the distilled product still has to be aged 2: Distilleries like Four Roses distill based on Bulleits recipe, it’s not just Four Roses standard product relabeled.

a somewhat different recipe that is still made by four roses. it is “a” Four Roses whiskey and “a” LDI-MGP rye, just not their standard products. Bulleit doesn’t make any whiskey yet. they are a recipe and a label for now, with production agreements with actual distilleries. again, this is not a rare arrangement,. Buillet is just better at marketing, and for some reason has gotten a lot of coverage that it is somehow some sort of craft homemade whiskey (probably because Diageo is behind them).

He’s also at an age where it’s dangerous to re-sign RBs. He’s 26 now, he’ll be 27 at the start of next season, and that’s typically where RBs peak and experience a sharp decline after that. But I think his value is high enough in the open market that I don’t know if he agrees to a 3 year extension or a pay-as-you-go deal like Kaepernick.

They have a lot of burden contracts coming up next year. Shady, Cole, Cary, Herremans and Ryans both coming off IR and north of 30… and a lot of guys eligible for re-signing. Maclin, Cox, Kendricks, Boykin, Graham, Fletcher, Curry… they’ll also probably want to upgrade the secondary in FA…

Packers fan, when I say that the Eagles defense and special teams does more with it’s turnovers, first of all don’t include offensive scores from the resulting short fields, the Eagles offense is not what I’m talking about, I’m talking about direct scoring and assistance to the offense by the Def and ST
In comparison to GB, Eagles average start position is better, KR and PR averages are MUCH better, they have 2 more Def TD and 2 more ST TD than GB has, and this is with 2 less turnovers. Their offense itself might not be taking as much advantage as Green Bay’s offense is, but in just terms of defense and ST, the Eagles’ group is doing a pretty damn good job there.

It would be a downgrade but I don’t think it would be that bad. Too be honest I don’t think the passing game is that good to begin with. Romo is just there to convert 3rd down at this point. Bailey would be a huge lose imo. Maybe even bigger than Dez. With the amount that offense stalls at the 40 it would be hard to replace those 3 points

I can appreciate the fact that the Eagles are 7-2 and looking good and all, but the posts about Chip’s offensive prowess and the miracle of the high paced offense are getting old. Fact is the Eagles offense is no better than average in pretty much every way, passing wise, rushing wise, and efficiency wise. The real credit needs to be given where it is due, the 7 touchdowns scored by their special teams and defense, the multiple blocked kicks/punts by the special teams, and the 16 turnovers forced by the defense.

To me there is a difference between a good WR and one of those guys you can force the ball to when the chips are down, and Dez is becoming that kind of a guy.

To me Dez should of been that guy years ago. He failed against the Redskins and the outcome was a loss. If you look at SB winning teams over the past 15 years none of them were elite or top ten except Wayne and Harrison, but they had Peyton throwing to them. Boldin has been the best receiver to have won one in the last few years, though I love Boldin and think he’s been criminally underrated his whole career

YNWA148 I would argue that he has been a top tier WR since his 3rd year, and the guy you can “force the ball to when the chips are down” isn’t something that manifests in the first couple of years, most guys have to learn how to beat double teams by pro DBs and maximize their leverage to make catches in heavy coverage. Individual game failures are not really a concern to me. I also think there are many formulas for a SB team, and they vary greatly.

Well, it is pretty damn rare for a team to have a running game like Dallas has. I’d also point out that the team with the league leading rushing attack has not won a SB in the season they led the league in rushing ( I think that’s accurate, but there may be one recently – ‘Hawks?) but numerous teams leading the league in passing have won the SB.

Franchise tag value for QBs in 2014 was over $16M. I cannot imagine there is any way Mark Sanchez plays well enough the remainder of the season to make the Eagles contemplate paying him $16M, even for one year. He would have to really light it up for them to keep him around. I think the safest bet is Foles at QB Week 1 of 2015.

It’s not just the cap space. It has to do with how he has played in the past, what he could do for the teams in terms of playoffs, and if they can find a more suitable QB for their future in the draft. With the rookies salary caps in place dafting QB isn’t near the risk it used to be. Paying a free agent QB is a much larger risk… IMO

Well a couple things with that. We don’t know what the cap will do and we don’t know how other teams have contracts structured. The Eagles, for instance, have a projected $134M committed to the 2015 cap but have tons of flexibility with guys like Ryans, Herremans, Cole, Williams and are actually one of the teams in really great cap shape heading forward.
So are there QB needy teams out there that would sign Sanchez to a deal worth, say, 7-8M? Sure. Arizona, depending on Palmer’s knee, Buffalo probably doesn’t bring back Orton, Carolina may not bring back Cam (and may have a new coach needing a bridge QB a la Ryan Fitzpatrick in Houston), St. Louis, Tampa, Tennessee, and my personal favorite, the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.

If the season ended today, the Eagles would be picking 28th. I don’t know how committed the Raiders (picking first) are to Carr, but in any event it’s difficult to imagine Mariota makes it past the Bucs at 3. (This makes the Raiders first pick prime real estate for a desperate QB-needy team mortgaging its future to move up – looking at you, Redskins.) I don’t know what it would cost for the Eagles to move from 28 to 1 or 2, but it’s too much.

Lupo I could see Nick becoming a great NFL QB. I just feel is is more suited to play in an offense that runs the normal drop back not the mobile situation.

They throw against a zone pressure in college and it’s clear — zone, cushion, rush. You throw against it in the NFL and the corner hangs on and you do not know if it is man or zone. That was certainly a recognition of Maclin’s comeback not only from the ACL surgery that kept him out all last season, but his ability to persevere through a similar injury in college and a cancer scare in 2011. Maclin has been on the field for 87 percent of the offensive snaps this season and has averaged 10 targets and nearly six receptions per game. With 45 catches, 790 yards, and eight touchdowns, he’s on a pace to set new personal records in all those categories. Entering this weekend’s games, he was fifth in receiving yards in the NFL and second in average yards per reception (17.6).
