Julio is a tough test because he’s tall and fast. Prince lined up right on him at the end of the Giants-Falcons game. He didn’t jam him, didn’t direct him inside and let him go right by and then tried to catch up with him. Fail. I sort of blame them for not having a safety deep to help him, but I don’t understand doing nothing defensive. The worst thing you can do is give up a TD over your head. Give up something short, grab the guy if he goes by, redirect him inside, jam him to help the pass rush. Anything but let the guy go right by and score.

I completely agree with King and would even go a step further and say that I’d be very confident in Kelly next year even if the Eagles fail to reach the postseason this season. I know the typical negadelphian can only see things that are right in front of his face and wants to fire everybody after a bad game or two, but Chip’s a smart football guy and I still think he’s gonna be damn good.
The division is gonna come down to week 17 Eagles v. Giants.
It’s not all that surprising. Remember this time last year people were saying Brady should retire and make way for Jimmy Garoppolo and that the Packers were in a tailspin. The power of expectations really.
Still, I’m hoping the offense begins to get on track soon. I do think he’s bringing them along slowly and introducing a little bit more of the offense each week.
He may have completely underestimated the OL situation. That could be his undoing this year, although I think he’ll be able to adjust and right the ship. If not, I have faith he’ll address it in the offseason and come back with a great season.
They’ve been suggesting his return to college since he left college though. Remember in 2013 there were stories about whether he would take the job at Texas or USC?
I think the OL has looked bad, but on the bright side most of it hasn’t been guys getting flat out beat but guys not knowing their responsibility, and it’s encouraging how good they’ve been in pass pro. I think (hope) as the season goes along you’ll see guys better on the same page.

Perhaps, he’s the most questionable of the ones for whom it was discussed, but I just don’t think NFL teams would really mark a guy down for skipping a year, and I don’t think the original injury was enough to knock him out of the first. Cedric Ogbuehi and Todd Gurley both went in the first round in this past draft, and Dominique Easley went in the first in 2014.
He did it for the same reasons guys don’t sit out their junior year. Show he’s a team guy. It’s bullshit.

Absolutely. I already have a claim in for him. I can drop my backup QB (Rivers) and roll with Eli. The person who waived him has the No. 1 waiver priority though, so they might have just been buying a roster spot, but looking at her roster there are plenty of people I would have just outright dropped rather than give up the waiver slot.
I’m third in waiver priority, so my fingers are crossed.

Maybe… but Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is about to be the first player to collect on draft insurance because he busted his knee in such a way that teams weren’t confident he could recover, and instead of going in the first round he went in the seventh. But if there’s nerve damage or cartilage damage that’s not just an ACL injury.
This is all hypothetical, but I just think the right kid doing it could certainly say to teams in interviews that he loves football and he loves his team, but he also values his future and it wasn’t worth the risk. My issue is the way we are ‘going about it’, not the end result. I am an advocate of some form of gun control. For many reasons. 1) I believe it to be an outdated concept, based on social attitudes/experiences in the 18th century, 2) I don’t believe that any group of ‘citizen militia’ no matter how they are armed, can effectively stand against the modern US military (nor any other military), there’s just no way.
My issue is solely that I do not believe (and VERY strongly) that we can afford to ignore the Constitution for ANY reason. I don’t have an objection to considering modifying or removing the 2nd Amendment, We HAVE to do it the right way, otherwise we open ourselves up to Dictatorship and I don’t want to do that.

Matt Mosley & Eli M Sam appeared to actually play well. He didn’t have a lot of time in the first half, but started hitting his receivers in the second when he had more time. That has always been the rub with Sam. He’s very accurate when he has the time.

Maybe the offense could be a little more aggressive. But it’s been the defense’s and special team’s worst quarter. Also a couple of killer fumbles in the third quarter so far. What does that game look like if Reed doesn’t turn the ball over?

The Eagles should come out throwing from now on. Fuck it, the OL can’t run block and are a little better pass blocking. The offensive is only effective when they somewhat abandon the run, why not just make that the offense?
I just think Barry called off the dogs for whatever reason in the 3rd Quarter (maybe it was the hip pointers for Kerrigan and Murphy). But there are the three or four throws where Bradford had a lot of time in those three drives, and then there was every other throw Bradford attempted in the game with a longer than 3 step drop.
