Not good. Despite the crazy finish, just awful offense for 59 minutes. What can I as a citizen do to get LeRibeus out of there? The decision not to find a way to bring in a blocking TE who could get on the field at some point in the season is proving very costly.

HailBandG Offense was really bad, two blocking TEs in only when running the ball, giving up on the bootleg even though it worked time after time, getting incredibly conservative over the 50. Jay needs to give up play calling fully to McVay.

lddsfuws Right before DJax score I said the same thing, I’d take a TD at any point and ask the D to get the stop. If ST had done their job it probably would have gone to OT, since the D actually did a good job stopping the Cowboys on that last drive, they just started so far down field it never really had a chance.

It’s impossible to call plays when every other snap is a screw up of alignment or failure to recognize the stunt or blitzer. There is just too much tape with this offense with LeRibeus playing now. It will be a ton of blitzes from here on out.

HailBandG I 100% agree on LeRibeus, but the play calling was still shit. There were plenty of times, especially in the second half when Kirk had time/a pocket and the play was just such shit nothing good would come of it. Again, bootleg every fucking play until Dallas stops you. The took the bait on the run EVERY SINGLE TIME, every one. Use it until it doesn’t work, then run the ball. Not “lets run the ball on first down 10000 times in a row so they know whats coming. By the way, Dallas all out blitzed on third down 90% of last night, but we didn’t adjust for it after the first 4 times to give Kirk a dump off pass which would have easily gained 10+ yards. It’s shitty play calling, shitty execution, just shitty.

If you have first and 10 with a running clock, the other team has two timeouts, and a chip shot FG wins the game, DON’T SCORE.
If McFadden got to the first down line and took a knee, Dallas could have taken a knee three times and kicked a FG as time expired and the Redskins would have never gotten the ball back.

I won’t be here long, just popping in. It’s gotten crazy to wrap up the year at work.
If they took a knee three times and kicked a FG after recovering the fumble on the punt, Washington would have gotten the ball back down 3 with about 45 or so seconds left. Then running out of bounds was dumb, but you could have rectified it if you got the first down and took a knee. Then Washington would have had to use a time out and had only one timeout left with like 1:15 on the clock and you can kick a chip shot FG to win.

III agrees…I know Kirk may have a better grasp but when LeRibus and the bum he replaced at RG parted rushers like a sieve III had the wheels to avoid it. Kirks legs arent thick enough its like hes taking kid strides vs man strides or hes too short or slow. What I mean I guess is I see other qbs tuck it and get 5 or 10 if the man coverage is good and the DL blows by the pocket.. other qbs take those open running lanes kirk always checks down. How fond the memories are of III or Theismann tucking and running for the 1st when coverage was tight. Totally demor to a D on a 3rd down. My .02

Kirks legs arent thick enough. When its tight man coverage and a lane opens and your check down is shadowed on the sideline for a 2 yd gain run it damnit but kirks slow baby strides cant or wont. Joe Theismann is not a big man 5’9″ but exposed those run lanes on 3rd down demoralizing a D when their coverage was perfect as did King Robert when the right side collapsed like last nite.

I didn’t have a huge problem with the mental error of going out of bounds but definitely a mistake. Garrett was taking a beating for scoring but I suspect he figured that they would just get a first on that play and scored.
Fitting ending to that game, Cowboys fucked up by finally doing something right then allowed the skins to get across the 50 with more fuckups, DJax burns Claiborne deep….
Cowboys obviously fucked up somewhere on the FG drive because a good drive by Dallas doesn’t just happen.

As for Cowboys, torn as to the reality that they should cut Hardy for the cap benefit, play Gregory to see what they have, and play conservative to avoid the big injury (aka TANK) or taking some pride that at least they have the integrity to try hard in the face of obvious season debacle.

Ryan Mathews (concussion) returned to practice Tuesday.The Philadelphia Daily News’ Les Bowen reported Mathews made progress in the protocol Monday and was going to meet with a neurologist Tuesday morning. That meeting apparently went well, and Mathews is back on the practice field. Mathews may not be fully cleared at this point, but this practice puts him on track to play against Buffalo. With DeMarco Murray basically benched last week, Mathews could be the starting running back against the Bills. He needs to be added wherever available.

I was dead serious here yesterday when I said that http://realredskins.com/2015/12/08/should-the-redskins-abandon-the-run/ and put the last four games in Cousins’ hands. I’m old school and I think that being able to run the ball will be a vital part of this team’s long-term success. But the long term can wait. They are in a four-game sprint here to win the NFC East, which I presume they want to do. They aren’t going to get there pounding their heads against the wall running the ball. I mean, when you have second and one in the red zone and you line up with seven offensive linemen (two tackles as tight ends) and get stuffed for no gain and then in a more conventional set you run again on third and one and get his for a loss of two, what’s the point?

On none of the plays following takeaways in the other team’s territory have they run a pass play designed to score immediately or at least to set them up in a goal to go situation. Runs up the middle and a few short passes have been the standard fare.

lddsfuws Murray may be the “one-cut” runner Chip likes. But the O-Line for the most part sucks. They’re inconsistent as a unit. And Barbre & Tobin have shown that they are nothing but backups & will only be such for the rest of their careers& should not start for any NFL team. Therefore, you can’t be a patient runner waiting for holes to develop with this unit. Murray is overly patient. For that reason, he sucks.

Washington runs a favorite play of Jay Gruden’s brother, Jon. He calls it sluggo-seam, meaning a slant-and-go on one side, with a seam route on the other. Pierre Garcon runs the double move to the right of the formation, while Jamison Crowder runs the seam route on the back side. The Cowboys run a corner blitz, with the deep safety working down to cover Crowder.
Cousins pump-fakes to Garcon to try and sell the double move. The defense bites, with the safety on Crowder watching the ball instead of his man.
Cousins works back across the field and looks directly at Crowder. Crowder is in behind the safety, which should tell Cousins to throw the ball over the top for the touchdown. But Cousins hesitates and opts against the throw.
Instead, Cousins checks it down to Jackson on the outside.
