This has been one wild College Football season, and the coaching carousel might have been even crazier. There have been a ton of coaching changes this year. We’ve had coaches leaving programs where they’ve won National Championships. We’ve had coaches leaving programs after they went an entire season without a loss. We’ve seen the return of great college coaches, and mediocre NFL coaches joining the college ranks. Let’s take a look at a few programs, and the coaches they’ve acquired.

    Arizona State

Todd Graham was fired after a so-so stint at ASU. He was replaced by Herm Edwards. Yes, the Herm Edwards who last coached college ball at San Jose State. Well, that was a mere 28 years ago if you don’t remember. It is completely laughable, but nonetheless intriguing to see how this will work out.

    Texas A&M

Kevin Sumlin was fired after multiple lackluster seasons. A&M went after a high profile coach, and used truck loads of money to get their guy. Jimbo Fisher jumped ship from Florida State to become an Aggie. This is the first time a school has stolen a sitting National Championship HC in 40 years.

    Florida State

Jimbo Fisher decided to head out for a new challenge, which left Florida State in need of a new coach. They hired Willie Taggart from Oregon. After watching Oregon have a miserable season in a subpar PAC 12 conference, good luck Florida State. This is not the quality hire that was to be expected from FSU.

    Nebraska

Mike Riley is out at Nebraska after going .500 over three seasons. The Cornhuskers got their man, as they bring in Scott Frost coming off an undefeated season at UCF. This is an exciting change in the BIG 10 West, as Scott Frost brings in a completely different mindset and coaching philosophy. It will be interesting to see if he can pull recruits from the Florida goldmine of talent.

    UCLA

Jim Mora was fired at UCLA, and replaced with one of the biggest names in College Football over the past decade. Chip Kelly makes his predictable return to College Football, and managed to stay in the PAC 12. This is far and away one of the best hires this offseason, as Chip’s coaching philosophy is perfect for the college game. UCLA could change the landscape of the PAC 12 with this hire.

    Tennessee

What a fucking shit show…. I mean seriously, I don’t think a coaching search could ever be as fucked up as that of the Tennessee Volunteers. They should probably be banned from participating in bowl games, and have scholarships reduced by the NCAA for pure administrative incompetence..
