Now that a majority of the out of conference games have been played, the true College Football season is upon us. Conference games with all of the tradition and rivalries are in full swing. The AP top ten has a lot of familiar faces, and it is loaded with SEC teams. The biggest surprise through the first part of this season might be the play of the LSU Tigers, who have steadily climbed in the polls with unexpected offensive firepower.

    AP Top Ten:
    1. Clemson (4-0)
    2. Alabama (4-0)
    3. Georgia (4-0)
    4. LSU (4-0)
    5. The Ohio State (4-0)
    6. Oklahoma (3-0)
    7. Auburn (4-0)
    8. Wisconsin (3-0)
    9. Florida (4-0)
    10. Norte Dame (2-1)

    Games to Watch:

    Friday:

*7:30pm – Arizona State @ #15 Cal – ASU (3-1) comes in after a tough 3 point loss to Colorado. Meanwhile, Cal (4-0) has been a surprisingly good team this year in the PAC 12.

    Saturday:

*12:30pm – #21 USC @ #17 Washington – A pair of PAC 12 3-1 teams set to do battle. USC is coming off a big win against Utah with their 3rd string QB at the helm. Last week Washington smoked BYU, which is the team who beat USC 2 weeks ago.

*4:30pm – #5 The Ohio State @ Nebraska – This might be the first decent test for the Buckeyes who come in at 4-0 looking dominant against weaker opponents. Meanwhile, Nebraska (3-1) is still looking for their first signature win with young head coach Scott Frost.

This week in college football may not have the greatest slate of games, but you never know what might happen in conference matchups. There’s a long way to go in this season, and you can always expect the unexpected as the season progresses…
