We’re still at half-speed this morning and indeed, this offseason. I promise to provide more detailed analysis the closer we get to training camps.
By now, you’re aware of your team’s NFL Draft 2022 pickups. The AFC North did collectively well, with solid additions to respective problem areas.
- The Ravens landed the draft’s best safety at #14, according to some, although it wasn’t a position of need,
- The Bengals also drafted a safety, Daxton Hill, to complete a secondary upgrade,
- As expected, the Steelers drafted a quarterback, albeit not the one they were widely projected to take, and
- Having no picks in round 1 and 2, the Browns largely picked up depth pieces from round 3 onward.
Again, solid drafting all around. While the collective writers’ rooms at various pubs has been overflowing with praise for the Ravens’ haul, it’s tough to get too excited – after all, the proof is often in contact results, and the most highly-touted prospect can fold at the first practice field hit in training camp. The old adage of “judge this draft after three years” remains an evaluator’s most accurate tool.
What was your team’s best pickup and why?

Here’s how I would have done it if I did it.
