The best weekend of the regular season in College Football has arrived. It is Rivalry Weekend! This is when you throw regular season records out the window, and school pride is on the line. These rivalries are full of big plays and memorable moments, which create legends in College Football. This season some of the biggest rivalries have serious Conference Championship and playoff implications.
Let’s take a look at 3 of the biggest games:
THE Game
The Ohio State vs Michigan (9am ABC); This is the greatest rivalry in all of sports. The Buckeyes will be entering the Big House to face Michigan with everything on the line. A win by the Buckeyes puts them in the conference championship game, and keeps their slim playoff hopes alive. Meanwhile for the Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh is seeking his first win in three tries against their biggest rival.
The Iron Bowl
Alabama vs Auburn (12:30pm CBS); This game features a match up of top ten teams. The winner of this game will play Georgia for the conference championship. Alabama looks to keep their undefeated season intact, while Auburn needs this win to have any chance at the playoffs.
The Apple Cup
Washington St vs Washington (5pm Fox); A Washington St win means they will be playing for the conference championship, while a loss puts Stanford in the conference championship game. This might be the last game in Husky Stadium for a couple U-Dub greats, as Myles Gaskin and Jake Browning are both Juniors who would be Eligible to enter the NFL Draft.
