Oliver’s Week 5 Picks

    1024 640 Oliver James

I have the lead! Charlie didn’t have a bad week, but thanks to me being one game better last week, I’m a game up on him.  Vegas tried to join the picking party, but his Nostradamus skills are not up to par with Charlie and I.

Overall, it’s Oliver at 35-28, Charlie at 34-29, and Vegas at 6-9 (lol)

Now, it’s time for week 5.

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

The bad news for the Cardinals is that they are starting Drew Stanton. The good news for them is the 49ers still have Blaine Gabbert. My money is still on Arizona.

    Pick: Cardinals 24 49ers 14

New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns

I’ve been doing picks for a long time and I’ve noticed that despite how polar opposite these two teams have been talent wise, the Browns always manage to play the Pats tough. I think Brady has some rust to shake off and the Pats win a closer than expected game.

    Pick: Patriots 24 Browns 17

    Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions

The upstart Eagles are fresh off a bye and head to the Lions’ den. These Lions are not good at defending their home turf, and Carson Wentz will make it look easy.

    Pick: Eagles 38 Lions 14

    Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts

Andrew Luck has been doing it all on his own again. That’s not enough to win most games, but it should be enough to win this one.

    Pick: Colts 26 Bears 20

    Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins

I had my doubts that the Dolphins would win another game this season. Then I realized that they were playing the Titans. Miami takes this one in a nailbiter.

    Pick: Dolphins 31 Titans 30

    Washington Redskins at Baltimore Ravens

The battle of Maryland happens once every 4 years, and one can’t help be excited for this one. It should be close, but I have the Redskins in an upset.

    Pick: Redskins 27 Ravens 20

    Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota arguably has the best defense in the league, and the Texans is in the lower tier. Sam Bradford has also been playing surprisingly well. I’ve got the Vikings at home.

    Pick: Vikings 27 Texans 11

New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers

This season has been a nightmare for the Jets so far, and going to Pittsburgh is no easy task for anybody. The Steelers won’t be able to do to the Jets what they did to the Chiefs, but they still get the W.

    Pick: Steelers 20 Jets 10

    Atlanta Falcons at Denver Broncos

There is already talk that the Broncos could go undefeated this year. However, the Falcons showed last week that they are a dangerous team and I think they catch the Broncos off guard and steal one.

    Pick: Falcons 29 Broncos 23

    Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott is the real deal. The Cowboys are already a win away from last season’s total, but they get a tough challenge with the Bengals coming to town. This one could go either way, but I’ll take the Cowboys.

    Pick: Cowboys 27 Bengals 24

Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are 3-1 and have beaten two good teams in the process. However, they are overdue for a typical Rams game. The Bills are red hot and the better team, so I’m picking them.

    Pick: Bills 29 Rams 10

San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders

The Chargers three losses have been by a combined 11 points. The Raiders three wins have come by a combined 9 points. Expect a close game, and a Raiders win.

    Pick: Raiders 23 Chargers 20

New York Giants at Green Bay Packers

The Giants have fallen back to earth in their last two games, and I don’t think Green Bay is the place where they get back to the sky.

    Pick: Packers 27 Giants 13

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers

It has been a disaster for the reigning NFC champs so far, as not much has gone right for Cam Newton and the Panthers offense. They won’t need much to take out the punchless Bucs though.

    Pick: Panthers 23 Buccaneers 14
