SEAHAWKS

With Eli Manning coming into town to avenge his older brother, the Seattle Seahawks struggled to gain control early in the game. However, lead by duo of star running backs, Wilson and Lynch were able to carry the team past the Giants with crippling runs. In fact, this was the Seahawks highest rushing total for a single game in franchise history. Russell Wilson struggled to throw the ball again for the 3rd straight week, but his legs were the difference in this game. The turning point in this game came after Eli Manning targeted Odell Beckham JR in the endzone, for only to have the ball tipped away into Earl Thomas’ grasp. Offensively, the game plan had fans scratching their heads, with WR Baldwin even calling out coaches to stop with the bubble screen passes. In non football news, the Seahawks Hawk mascot quit on the team as he went rouge and went to chill in the stands.

Cards / RAMS

The Arizona Cardinals continue to string together wins as they were able to contain the pesky Rams. Despite early struggles and losing starter Carson Palmer to what appears to be an ACL injury, Bruce Arians was able to right the ship with backup Drew Stanton, who changed the game with his deep TD pass to rookie sensation John Brown. Austin Davis looked solid early on, but once the Cardinals got the lead, he was forced to make plays which lead to ill advised turnovers. Cardinals scored two touchdowns on defense, with one coming off a fumble recovery, and the other: a Patrick Peterson pick six. At 8-1, the Cardinals currently have their best record after 9 games since 1948, the year Mikefromaz battled Soviet spies. The Rams fell to 3-6, but Fisher continues to push his team, fighting to keep his job for next year.

Niners

The San Francisco 49ers, with their backs against the wall, came through big for coach Jim Harbaugh this past weekend. With rumors swirling around the league about Harbaugh’s exit, and even 49er legends Jerry Rice and Steve Young commenting on the coach’s erratic coaching style, Colin Kaepernick and company took care of business in the Superdome. Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde provided the extra spark San Francisco desperately needed, crediting the team with their first rushing TD since week 3. Colin Kaepernick also showed poise on a key 4th and 10 play late in the 4th quarter, that very well could have decided the season. With his WRs dropping consecutive passes leading up to the 4th down, Kaepernick rolled out to the right and kept the play alive until he was able to deliver a dart across the field to Crabtree. Defensively, Drew Brees was frustrated throughout the game, turning the ball over 3 times. His fumble in overtime sealed the game, as Chris Borland corralled the ball and set up a Phil Dawson field goal.
