Oliver’s Week 6 Picks

    800 600 Oliver James

It’s that time! Frednesday was great in it’s return, but now it’s Thursday which means it is time for my picks.

Thanks to an 11-3 week (fuck you Carolina), I’m sitting at 46-31 and leading candidate for NostraSKAmus of the Year.

Week 6 Picks. Here we go Lisa and gentlemen!

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers

The Chargers have had leads in 5 games and have lost 4 of them. I see a pattern brewing. With Semen back, the Broncos will win a close one.

    Pick: Broncos 24 Chargers 21

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills

If there was a time for the 49ers to rebound, it was last week against a battered Cardinals team at home. Kaepernick or not, this team is screwed, especially against a red hot Bills team.

    Pick: Bills 35 49ers 16

    Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins

Both the Eagles and Redskins have won three straight, but the Eagles defense has been much better so far. I think they rebound from a shocking loss in Detroit and win this NFC East showdown.

    Pick: Eagles 27 Redskins 15

    Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans

There are very few teams that the Browns have beaten twice in a row the last 10 years. Unfortunately for the Titans, they currently are one of them. However, the Titans have played far better this season and losing three in a row to the Browns is damn near impossible.

    Pick: Titans 21 Browns 17

Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants

The Ravens 3-0 start seems like a distant memory after 2 straight home losses. The Giants are the better team and get it done at home.

    Pick: Giants 31 Ravens 21

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

It’s been a disaster for the Panthers so far this year. Meanwhile the Saints have the same problem they have had for the last 5 years: no defense. However, the Panthers secondary is a flaming train wreck, so I’ll say the Saints take this one.

    Pick: Saints 31 Panthers 17

    Jacksonville Jaguars at Chicago Bears

Both these teams have been a major disappointment this year, especially for the Jaguars who were expected to make progress this year. This one is a tossup for sure, but I’ll take the Jags.

    Pick: Jaguars 19 Bears 13

Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions

The Rams got leveled by the Bills last week (told you Loyal) and head to Ford Field to play the Lions, who stunned the undefeated Eagles last week. Give me the Lions again at home.

    Pick: Lions 24 Rams 17

    Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are just a flat out awful team. This one won’t be close.

    Pick: Steelers 49 Dolphins 17

Cincinnati Bengals at New England Patriots

The Bengals have gotten off to a messy 2-3 start and this team does not look like the playoff team from the last 5 years. Things don’t get better heading to Foxborough.

    Pick: Patriots 30 Bengals 7

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders

The Chiefs got a much needed bye after getting wrecked by the Steelers, but their 4-1 division rivals won’t make it easy to get a win. The Raiders have a knack for winning close games this year, and I’ll say they get another.

    Pick: Raiders 23 Chiefs 17

    Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks

The Falcons are firing on all cylinders and stunned the Broncos in Denver. They face another tough test in Seattle this week. Do they get it done this time? Absolutely.

Pick Falcons 28 Seahawks 20 (I’m NOT a Seahawks fan Fred)

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Green Bay’s defense did the job last week, but get a much tougher test against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys this week. This game has upset written all over it.

    Pick: Cowboys 24 Packers 21

    Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

The Texans are not a good team. Let’s get that right. That being said, they are the lone halfway decent team in a terrible division. They make a statement this week against the Colts.

    Pick: Texans 30 Colts 20

New York Jets at Arizona Cardinals

It’s hard to believe that both these teams had winning records a year ago. The Jets now sit at 1-4, while the Cardinals are limping at 2-3. Carson Palmer is back, but I think the Jets defense gets to him and squeezes out a win.

    Pick: Jets 22 Cardinals 17
